We are more than just a club.

ABOUT US

Middleton Gymnastics Club was officially established in 1986 and is led by Mr Glenn Prendergast (Head of Coaching). The club has grown and became  a not-for profit Community Interest Company, it still remains responsible for all its own running costs and is primarily a not for profit organisation to ensure we give as much back as possible to our next generation of gymnasts as the MGC family grows.

The club is situated in the former school of Demesne, Langley, Middleton; after many years being pushed in and out of different premises from 1988 -1997 and having to repeatedly relocated  to make way for the development of new homes, we finally settled here in 1997 and truly made it our own.

MGC's aim to promote the sport of gymnastics within the local community and its surrounding areas, enabling children of all ages to have the opportunity to participate in one of the most exciting sports of our time, while in a safe and fun environment.

Since 2018 we have tripled our members to over 320 users per week and we have a fantastic set of home grown and  enthusiastic coaches, 100% of which are ex-gymnasts who all started their gymnastics with MGC up to 30+ years ago and have since progressed and moved into coaching though our coach development program. We consider this to be advantageous to us as it brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and understanding to the gymnasts we teach.

All our coaches are fully qualified, with a current enhanced  DBS checked and  Safeguarding qualifications; and deliver well structured programs to ensure each child is seen as an individual and achieves successes in a variety of ways such as: developing confidence, balance, a healthier lifestyle, co-ordination, social and communication skills are just a few.
