Three of our young MGC girls took part in the 2nd North West Classic Challenge competition at the Robin Park Sports Centre in Wigan

Our girls were amazing on all the apparatus and really showed they could deliver beautiful routines within a tough competition while enjoying themselves.

Another busy outing for the MGC girls in at the North West Classic Challenge in Wigan, This being the second weekend of competition in a row

Magical memories made by MGC girls

Well it was a long competition weekend, early starts and late finishes but it was defiantly fun!!

Our girls made a massive impression and stood out from the crowd in their New Leos!! They all looked AMAZING.

Looking good isn’t everything tho, there were a couple of falls but so many positives to bring home from the competition

SMASHED IT!! 2 Champions & 53 Medals in one day!!

Our MGC girls travelled to Stockport School of Gymnastics this weekend for the SSOG Easter Championships 2025, Lots of new skills from our girls around the apparatus, for many this was the first competition at the next level up and they brought their A game.

After a fun long day of competition these 16 girls brought home an staggering 53 Medals and 2 Overall Champion Trophies , 12 being for for individual apparatus titles.

Following on from the Ace of Grades (Prep competition in January) This month the girls travelled to the Robin Park Sports Area in Wigan for the North West National Development Plan Grades of 2025.

Class, Confidence and then Conquer - That's how these MGC Girls Flip

This weekend was part Two of the North West & County Classic Challenge Championships 2024 at the Robin Park Sports Centre in Wigan.

It was another fantastic weekend of competition for our girls. With many of the best gymnasts from within the region competing, the level of competition in all aged groups was high but six of our girls stood tall, embraced the challenge, added some new skills and performed with passion. Lots of personal best around the apparatus were achieved along with well earned medals and trophies.

Precision and Class, The Winning Formula For MGC Girls

It’s been a great weekend for our girls who travelled to Robin Park in Wigan to compete in the North West and County Classic Challenge Championships. This is always key competition for our girls as it brings many of the best gymnasts within the region all together.

As always it’s a tough competition and anything can happen when the adrenaline is running high and the competition nerves kick in, but all our girls delivered outstanding performances around the apparatus adding many new skills and achieving some personal bests.

MGC girls super start to 2024 competition season

This weekend 10 MGC girls travelled to Robin Park leisure centre in Wigan for the 2024 Hannah Whelan 4 Piece Invitational Competition. This is one of the competitions our girls enjoy the most each year.

It’s the start of the competition year and our girls were really getting back into the swing of things laying down lots of new skills and routines around of the apparatus back in a fun competition environment.

NDP Regional Grades (Part THREE)

This weekend Isla went solo travelling to Robin Park Sports Centre in Wigan for the third and final NDP Grades competition of 2024 for MGC.

Competing in the Performance 1 category she blasted out 5 amazing routines around the apparatus against some strong competition where some were nearly twice her age demonstrating she can hold her own and defiantly makes this a personal best for her.

Isla smashed the base line pass mark and scored 60.05 showing she is working beyond the expected level for her age, overall she placed 15th out of 40 which is amazing, and claimed 2 top 10 placements on Floor and Range of Conditioning.

2 Champions & 34 Medals in one day!!

11 MGC girls travels to Stockport School of Gymnastics for their the SSOG Easter Championships 2024, and what a success it was. Lots of new skills from our girls around the apparatus, for some it was there first 4 voluntary four piece competition and other competing at new levels.

After a fun long day of competition these 11 girls brought home an amazing 34 Medals and 2 Overall Champion Trophies , 10 of the 34 medals were for individual apparatus titles.

MGC Girls with more grades success

Following on from the recent grades competition a couple of weeks ago. This weekend 7 more MGC girls travelled to Robin Park sports centre in Wigan ready to take their Regional Grades.

They were all truly magnificent! All passing there grades with flying colours under the new grades system. Collectively these girls bagged 27 top 10 placing in Greater Manchester around 5 pieces of apparatus & 5 placements in North West, between just 7 of them. Absolutely fantastic Result.

NDP Regional Grades 2024 (Part One)

SOARING HIGH ON GRADES SUCCESS

Since the Ace of Grades competition these four girls have been working hard ready for the real thing, and this weekend was it. They travelled to Robin Park Sports Center for the NDP (National Development Plan) North West Regional Grades Competition. Due to so many age groups and level this is the first of 3 Grades competitions being held this year so our older girls prepare for there grades in a couple of weeks time.

For three of them this was their first Grades competition competing set skills around all pieces of apparatus plus the additional Range of conditioning routine. They all shone brightly and were real superstars throughout the entire competition ensuring they all easily passed there grades.

MGC Girls ACED IT!

A fantastic start to 2024. 12 MGC girls travelled to The Wire Gymnastics at Warrington for the ACE of GRADES competition in preparation for the NDP Regional Grades in a few weeks time.

All our girls did amazingly well putting down new set routines around all four apparatus plus Range of Conditioning to me meet the requirements of the new Grades structure starting this year and had lots of fun doing it.

Magical Medals at the Winter Wonderland

This weekend MGC 2 Piece girls took part in the The Wire’s Winder Wonderland competition in Warrington. For some of them this was their first ever competition. Every single one of them did brilliantly and MGC are so proud of every single one of you. Everyone had lots of fun and enjoyed the competition experience provided was a long weekend by the Wire Gymnastics Club.

After the weekend’s event we have another Overall Champions and 17 medals for individual place medals as well as additional Artistry Awards and Creative numbers.

This Weekend was the 2nd chapter of this years North West and County Classic Challenge at Robin sports centre in wigan.

This weekend saw the start of the 23-24 Competition season for our MGC Girls who took of to Robin Park in Wigan to compete at the Hannah Wheelan 4 Piece Competition, and what a successful one it was!

A Legendary day of Gymnastics

Today our girls re-entered the competition arena for the second time this year but this time at Stockport, every single one of them shone extra bright with lots of exceptional routines around all the apparatus, so many fantastic performances to count.

Fantastic day at the “under the sea” competition at Tumblebugs in Manchester. 19 of our gymnasts competed, 15 from our Development group and 4 of our youngest squad members. North West & County Grades 2023

It’s been a busy time for our squad girls with the build up for the Regional Grades which took place over two weekends 4 ^th /5 ^th and 11 ^th &12 ^th February, at the Robin Park Sports Centre in Wigan. The weeks of preparation leading up to this competition was all worth it as our girls proved that they have what it takes and performed lots of stunning routines around all the apparatus ensuring they all passed with flying colours, with many going further and receiving commendations. The competition was tough in each age/grade ranging from 34-83 competitors.

Massive Congratulations to all our girls – you were all absolutely BRILLIANT.

MGC Coaches have still Got it!

Bringing 2022 to a close with an awesome 3 Team Competition made up of coaches and squad gymnasts, our coaches making a final come back from retirement for one last time before many of them finish university and as others start next year.

The TEAMS were generated at random:

RED TEAM: Libby Wilson, Lauren Henderson, Alex Drysdale & Maisy Hoban

GREEN TEAM : Olivia Walsh, Darcey Flanagan, Evie Spencer & Henrietta Adamson

BLUE TEAM: Fern Gibson., Daria Walsh, Isabelle Atkinson & Olivia Richardson.

The Competition was real, fierce but friendly and above all definitely fun. They all proved they still have what it takes to go full out and hold their own around all four pieces in the competition arena. Throughout the competition the excitement was building and the scores were levelling up to make this a really close call to which team was going to be VICTORIOUS!.

Overall this event was a blast but there can only be one winner!!

Classic Challenge 2022 Round Up

It was a long 2 days of competition this weekend for these girls at the Combined NW & County Classic Challenge Championships, in Wigan. They smashed out loads of fantastic routines around the apparatus, with tough completion from other clubs from within the region, every single one of them should be really proud of themselves.

Stockport Easter Competition 2022

Another Positive Competition for MGC Girls

Last weekend our squad girls travelled to the Stockport School of Gymnastics (4 Piece) Easter Competition, this is always a really nice friendly competition, one we have missed for the past two years due to pandemic.

This was for many of our younger girls their first competition with routines on all the apparatus which is a big challenge in itself but they all did brilliantly just showing how far they have all come and that they can hold their own in a full 4 piece competition. For others returning back to competition this was all about laying down new skills or entire routines around the apparatus that they had never competed before, and again they all did amazingly well. Not everything goes to plan in competition and we had a few falls, a minor injury but defiantly a successful and positive experience with some medals.

MGC Girls start 2022 with fantastic grades results

It has been a busy few weeks for our Squad girls starting 2022 with the NDP – Regional Grades Competition held at Salford Gymnastics Center over the past few weeks. Our Level 6 & 5 girls competed on 29 ^th & 30 ^th January followed by levels 4-1 on just a few weeks later.

Our girls have proved they are back on track with them all passing their grades as we finally climb out of the restraints of the pandemic which they were under for nearly 2 years. It was really good see them all back into a proper competition environment and absolutely loving it.

Isla Bradley = Greater Manchester Champion and 2nd In the North West Region earning her a Distinction.

Millie Johnstone & Myla-Rae Cunliffe received Commended.

Annabelle Buxton, Brook Ashton = Received Commended

Harriett Salt & Maizie Richardson both got Commended, just missing out on distinction by the half a mark.

This weekend 50+ MGC girls took part in the The Wire’s 2 piece Winder Wonderland competition in Warrington. For many of them this was their first ever competition and every single one of them did brilliantly and MGC are so proud of every single one of you. It was a long weekend but everyone had lots of fun and enjoyed the competition experience provided by the Wire Gymnastics Club.

Another Amazing Competition for MGC Girls

Congratulations to these 3 young ladies who travelled to the Salford Gymnastics Carnival Curse Competition today. There first open competition since March 2020 due to covid. There were some exceptional performances for all 3 girls on the apparatus ensuring they all earned medal positions.

MGC Girls Storming return to competiton

This weekend 7 of our girls returned to the competition area for the first time in 18 months, competing in the North West & Greater Manchester Championships that were held at Cheshire gymnastics in Northwich.

Despite the long absence from a competition environment due covid and the extra nerves they have all done themselves extremely proud and really put out some amazing routines around a the apparatus, with every one of them bring home a medal, and 2 of them winning the overall titles within their age group within Greater Manchester county - AMAZING!!

MGC COACHES - LEVEL UP.

The MGC Coaching team just keeps getting bigger and better!

A massive WELL DONE to these six amazing young ladies who have recently passed their Level 1 or Level 2 Coaching.

It really has been a busy and challenging time behind the scenes for our coaches since our return from lockdown just a few months ago. In June / July Olivia, Alex and Fern had to pick up where they left off a year ago as there Level 1 and 2 coaching courses were postponed due to pandemic and embrace a new assessment process after lockdown, for Fern this bringing it right in the middle of her A Levels, which she still did really well in; Also Brooke, Daria and Darcey have this week completed their level 1 coaching and they also had the extra work load of their coaching courses while doing their GCSE’s and again they have all did brilliantly in them as well.

MGC are exceptionally proud of you, and all our coaches whose commitment and passion help us to give the best experience possible to our members as we develop our next generation of gymnasts.

MGC Girls make the GRADE.

12 of our squad girls had an amazing return to competition yesterday afternoon; they were absolutely awesome as they took to the apparatus in this year’s internally assessed Regional Grades.

Everyone passed with Commendations with the exception of Olivia Richardson & Ava Beaumont who got Distinctions. All of the girls have excelled especially considering how hard the last 18 months have been and how much time they have not actually been in the gym!!

All the coaches are so proud of you all – Well Done Girls.

3 North West Champions

MGC at North West Championships 2019

This weekend 11 of our girls travelled to Robin Park Sports Arena in Wigan to compete in the 2019 North West Championships with around 400 other girls from within the region.

All our girls did brilliantly around the apparatus with lots of beautiful routines, as always in competition there were a few falls but this did not deter our girls from continuing to perform at their best and have fun.

MGC is now the home to 3 North West Champions!

Daria Walsh who won Gold medals on Beam, Bars, Floor taking the overall Gold and becoming the North West Regional Level 2 Champion.

Olivia Richardson won the Gold medal on Vault and is now the Regional 6 (Age 9) North West Champions. Also, Darcey Flanagan Won Gold medal on Vault and who also became the Regional 5 (Age 13+) Champion.

Well done to Sydney Morby who won a bronze medal on vault.

National Grades 2019

Congratulations to the 3 MGC girls who competed at the National Level Grades this weekend at the Robin Park Sports Arena in Wigan. They all achieved commendations and defiantly set some personal achievements with new skills around the apparatus.

It was momentous record breaking weekend not only for Daria Walsh personally who placed 5th overall in the National Grade 1 age group making the team for the National Finals. She also made club history being the first member of MGC to compete her new vault (Yerchenko) in a competition environment.

Futher Success for MGC Girls - 2 County Champions & 11 Medals

Our 7 MGC Girls took to the competition floor at the 2018 at Robin Park in Wigan for the second weekend in a row at the 2018 Greater Manchester Championships.

7 MGC Girls took to the competiton arena at the 2018 North West Championships, at Robin Park in Wigan.

It was a very long weekend but this did not stop the MGC girls from producing many outstanding routines across every piece of apparatus.

Congratulations to Molly Brooks who became a North West Vault Champion, Olivia O'Keeffe who also became a North Champion on beam in their age groups, Olivia also place 3rd on Bars and 2nd overall.

Also, Well done to Darcey Flanagan who won Silver on floor.

MGC Girls do it again at Greater Manchester Grades

10 MGC Girls took to the competiton arena at the 2018 Greater Manchester Grades, at Robin Park in Wigan. It was a very long weekend but this did not stop the MGC girls from producing many outstanding routines across every piece of apparatus.

For 4 of our younger gymnasts (Maisie Leach, Ayelynne Johnson, Thea Fitzsimons and Poppy James) this was their first real 4 piece competition but they were shining brightly on every throughout the entire competition. Well done to Poppy James who placed 2nd Overall in her group.

Congratulations to Isabelle Atkinson who placed 3rd overall in her age group and is now a member of the 2018 Greater Manchester County Team and will go on compete in the finals in March.

There were lots of great individual apparatus performances with many top 10 placing (below) and all of the MGC Girls passed their grades with 3 achieving distinctions and 6 receiving Commendations.

MGC's Showcase raises over £2000

This year we held our Showcase for the second time and again it has been a massive success raising over £2,000 which will be going directly in to making MGC even bigger and better! As previously it was at St Matthews RC High School on Saturday 25th November.

The show was created by Maxine Flanagan who put in hours and hours of work along with some of our senior squad girls choreographing all the routines to make this all possible, they have all done an absolutely fantastic job.

All our members who took part gave two fantastic performances showing that MGC does more than just gymnastics, and we are extremely proud of everyone of you.

We must also thank all those parents, coaches who gave their time and helped this to be such a great success

Daria Walsh became the Greater Manchester Level 3 All around Champion plus Gold Medals on Vault and Beam and continues forward to represent Greater Manchester at the North West Finials in December.

This was the last competition for two of our longest standing gymnast, Lauren Henderson & Libby Wilson. Even though they are retiring from competitive gymnastics to concentrate on their studies they are not leaving us and will hopefully in the near future begin the transition into judging or coaching.

A massive well done to our 4 newly qualified judges. Olivia Walsh, Alex Drysdale, Katie Spencer and Stuart Wilson. This was Olivia’s second time on the other side of the table but a first for Alex, Katie and Stuart who also did a fantastic job judging over the two days.

Everyone continues to always do a fantastic job and MGC are proud to have of all our coaches, judges and gymnasts.

All MGC Girls pass grades with ease.

Our Girls recently competered in the 2017 Greater Manchester Grades.

After an amazing two days of competition all our gymnasts passed with flying colors (commendations & distinctions), Helana Drysdale also making the Greater Manchester Team and is now set to compete in the finals next month.

All the coaches are immensely proud of you all..

Our Girls are set to compete in the 2016 Greater Manchester Championships at Robin Park Arena in Wigan this weekend.

Over the past few weeks our girls have been working really hard towards one of the last competitions of 2016 before they can relax a little and enjoy the festive period. We wish them all the best of luck this weekend and hope they all have a great weekend.

Regional Success for MGC Girls

A fantastic weekend of competition for the 11 MGC girls who showed everyone from start to finish what great gymnasts they are at North West Championships at Robin park in Wigan.

Many of the girls competed new skills for the first time in a competition and really did themselves and the club proud.

After a very long weekend of competition a massive well done to all the girls with Lily Smyth silver in bars, Millie fuller bronze on vault, Beth Drzymala silver on beam, Rhia Rowland gold on vault, Shanice Tanoh bronze on bars, bronze on floor and silver overall.

County Team Success at NW Finals

MGC's Greater Manchester Team Managers (Maxine Flanagan & Glenn Prendergast) were elated with the overall result at the NW Grades Finals this weekend. Greater Manchester took the overall title.

A huge well done to our MGC girls, Rhia Rowland, Kiera Sherwood & Shanice Tanoh who’s performances contributed to their relevant teams placing second in there age groups, and to all the other Greater Manchester Team Members.

It's Show Sell out & huge success

MGC’s 2015 Showcase was an absolutely amazing night and a total success. After months of preparation and hours of hard work our gymnasts displayed true talent at St Matthews High School in Moston, Manchester raising approximately £1,400 for the club.

A massive thank you to everyone all parents, coaches and gymnasts who were involved making this fantastic night to remember.

Massive Success for MGC Girls at Stockports Championships

April 2015's Stockport Invitational competition - 22 gymnasts to compete although poor Lauren had to withdraw through illness (hope she is feeling better today) - Lots of new moves and gymnasts in new levels. The girls as usual surpassed our expectations not just with medals but with their own personal achievements. MGC Greater Manchester Team Members to North West Victory at Finals.

Well done to our gymnasts who competed in the North West Grades Finals. Aimee, Kiera, Alex, Millie, Daria and Helena. Congratulations to Helena Drysdale who is the 2015 North West Grade 5 Champion. Also, Aimee Hazelgrove placed 2nd overall in Grade 2 and Daria Walsh who placed 2nd Overall in Grade 4.

All 6 our gymnasts performed amazingly which contributed to the Greater Manchester’s Team victory at the 2015 North West Grades Finals.

MGC Home to 4 Greater Manchester Champions

What an amazing start to 2015 with a fantastic weekend at the Greater Manchester Grades. We now have 4 Greater Manchester Champions & 7 North West Team members!!!

A total of 23 gymnasts from MGC entered the competition and all passed, many with distinctions. MGC is unbelievably proud of all of our gymnasts who took part, well done to you all.

Grade 5 Champion = Helena Drysdale

Grade 5 Champion = Victoria Wilson (Out Of Age)

Grade 4 Champion = Daria Walsh

Grade 2 Champion = Amiee Hazelgrove.

All these girls made the respective North West Teams along with Alex Drysdale , Millie Fuller and Keira Sherwood.

Another fantastic Result for MGC at 2014 GM 2 Piece Championships

Congratulations to our 4 gymnasts who competed this weekend in the 2014 Greater Manchester 2 Piece Championships. Once again we had great performances from all the girls. Molly secured 2 Bronze Medals and Shanice became the New Greater Manchester Champion!!

Leah & Evelyn also had a great competition on both floor and vault, with Evelyn including her round off flick for the time.

Major Success for MGC Girls at GM Championships

Such a successful weekend for the club at the Greater Manchester 4 piece Championships - All our gymnast were superb and the coaches are just blown away by the success we have had at 4 piece level considering we have only been doing it for 12 weeks !!!!! A total of 31 medals, 2 Greater Manchester Team members Daria Walsh and Evie Spencer and finally Greater Manchester Novice Age 10 Champion Rhia Rowland !!

Congratulations to all our gymnasts who competed in this weekends North West 4 piece Championships ! We had 21 gymnasts in the competition with great performances from all of them with some strong competition from other clubs - we amassed 19 medals in total which far exceeded our expectations

Throughout May the entire external walls of the builing and internal viewing area have been given a much needed overhaul, and MGC now looks absolutly amazing!!
